Donโ€™t Get Discouraged with the Current

Hello Family! I hope everyone is doing well! My bro Bryan has really been on me and pushing me to write and to organize a blog schedule, and need to say… it’s working thus far. So every Wednesday you can see a new blog post from me and you actually might begin to see more within a week ๐Ÿ˜Š Stay tuned

I just want to continue to encourage those that might be going through a season that feels like drought. What do I mean? You feel like you’re not accomplishing anything or nothing is getting done or you may feel like everything you touch falls apart or you’re just a car in park. This is what I’ve been feeling for the past 3 months. I have a few things on my plate that has to get done and those things sometimes will discourage me from really working on my dream or vision because I’m too busy working /worrying about the current.

The last 4 months for me have been kind of brutal financially. Honestly, I know myself and I know when something isn’t right. I would go to work and come home and crawl in the bed, and not get up until the next day. Here’s the kicker sometimes I would eat one meal and not eat again. Now y’all know your boy loves to eat! I was surely going through a season of drought and was overwhelmed without any navigation and couldn’t see any light through my tunnel.

I slowly begin to shift my focus and I was able to see my vision and dream ahead of my current. As much mess or drought you’re going through you must combat it with your dream. I started watching YouTube vids of others people journey and stories and I started reading books that would challenge my mind to stay focus on the future. My main issue was my thoughts. You have to find a way to calm down your mind and spirit. Many of you know I am a man of faith and I choose prayer and meditation and I must confess. I wasn’t doing my share of this during my drought. I wasn’t getting fed enough spiritually to combat what my natural intake would be. Soon after I was able to get back to the grind of building my brand and business and what’s so amazing and crazy at the same time, the stuff that had me down, some of it is still going on, but I’m able to go through it because I have my dreams before it.

I want to tell you to not give up. Please don’t give in. It’s not that bad and everyday you’re given a blank canvas to create, to publish and live. Don’t get so caught up in the bad that you neglect on the good and the good to come. I hope this nugget helps and encourages you on your journey. We got this, let’s make it happen

Use What You Got

Hey Everybody!!! It’s been a while since I’ve written, but I’m back and ready to encourage and uplift. We really need that in today’s time because one moment you might feel like you have all the motivation that you need and then in the next second of that moment you are doubting and wanting to crawl up back in bed for the day.

I would like to encourage you today and let you know that God has created you and given you everything that you need. Sounds a bit cliche right? I’m sure you’ve heard that through the church walls and pews but it really is true. Often times, I find myself buying products or chasing after this or that because I see other people successful with it. Most of the time, if you just work with the measure you’re given that measure would get the job done.

Quick Example

At the top of the year my living arrangements begin to get interrupted and I had to find a new place to live. I had a friend talk to me about home buying and he suggested I talk to a bank to see if I would get pre-approved for a home loan. NOW in a million years, buying a house was far, far, far away from my agenda and I always and always felt like I didn’t have enough money in the bank to buy a house. What’s the name of this Blog???? Use what you got!!! So literally I used what I had. I had my income, credit score, and not a whole lot of money in the bank and what happened? I got pre-approved for a home loan. It was mind blowing. Over the past few years I was working on my credit and made sure I paid everything on time but I never thought that I was preparing myself to make an investment purchase like this. So I simply used what I had already and stepped out on faith. You will never know what you can do or where you can go, until you step out and try. I never knew what programs were available to assist you buying your first home. I learned so much and it’s made me think on a higher level. In my younger years, just hearing the word mortgage would make me shut everything down because I was brainwashed into thinking that you had to have thousands, and thousands of dollars in the bank to buy and obtain an home loan.

I just want to encourage you to use what you got. It might seem small to you, but it just might be what’s required to get you into the door. You might remember the mustard seed of faith. I used to wear one around my neck in a charm, and that thing is small. It would most definitely spark and grow the more you use it, so get up and Use what you Got!!!

Be Blessed & I love you all!

Here Comes the Purge

Hello Family! I hope everyone is making their way to family for the Thanksgiving Holiday and I hope that everyone is safe and blessed.

                                         Garbage Can

I was working around the house the other day doing laundry and I noticed some clothes and shoes that I don’t wear anymore but still yet they were in my closet. I asked myself “why are you holding on to this”? mind you the clothes were now too small and I don’t plan on losing weight in my chest or arms (those are the good parts) but why was I still holding to them? So I started to think and to dissect this situation. Did they have any sentimental value? Nope. Were they a collectors item? Nope. So I kept going back to why do I still have it? Suddenly,  I gathered a bag and started putting all of the things together that were old and that I wasn’t going to be wearing anymore.

Shortly, I got the revelation behind this for life’s journey ahead. There are many things that we have around us that just become garbage and waste. I know for me it becomes a distraction. In this season, I have been working on “focus” and trying to stay focused on my goals and what really matters. If we don’t take the time purge the things that we don’t have need anymore, they may just end up holding us back. Some of the things might not be materials. They could be connections, relationships, friendships, the way we think, or even the way we learn. Now I’m not saying go and start befriending people because I believe that everyone needs someone and somebody but if the connection or friendship is causing you to not move forward or is toxic then purge it. As I’ve stated before in another blog, God created life to move and with moving it moves forward. God’s word stays the same and yes he is the same God but he is a God of Progression. He wants us to grow. He wants us to be better.

Purging comes and will start to happen when we begin to release. As much as we want to be superman and batman and act like we are made of steel, we all have hearts and souls. In order for us to grow and move forward, we must let some things go. Just like a growing baby can’t fit the same onesie that he wore at 2 months and now at 24 months. Some stuff has to go, and not only that… You will not have need for it anymore! So I say to you dear friends purge and get rid of the dead weight that’s holding you and keeping you from moving forward. This will only help you gain focus on what really matters.
