Use What You Got

Hey Everybody!!! It’s been a while since I’ve written, but I’m back and ready to encourage and uplift. We really need that in today’s time because one moment you might feel like you have all the motivation that you need and then in the next second of that moment you are doubting and wanting to crawl up back in bed for the day.

I would like to encourage you today and let you know that God has created you and given you everything that you need. Sounds a bit cliche right? I’m sure you’ve heard that through the church walls and pews but it really is true. Often times, I find myself buying products or chasing after this or that because I see other people successful with it. Most of the time, if you just work with the measure you’re given that measure would get the job done.

Quick Example

At the top of the year my living arrangements begin to get interrupted and I had to find a new place to live. I had a friend talk to me about home buying and he suggested I talk to a bank to see if I would get pre-approved for a home loan. NOW in a million years, buying a house was far, far, far away from my agenda and I always and always felt like I didn’t have enough money in the bank to buy a house. What’s the name of this Blog???? Use what you got!!! So literally I used what I had. I had my income, credit score, and not a whole lot of money in the bank and what happened? I got pre-approved for a home loan. It was mind blowing. Over the past few years I was working on my credit and made sure I paid everything on time but I never thought that I was preparing myself to make an investment purchase like this. So I simply used what I had already and stepped out on faith. You will never know what you can do or where you can go, until you step out and try. I never knew what programs were available to assist you buying your first home. I learned so much and it’s made me think on a higher level. In my younger years, just hearing the word mortgage would make me shut everything down because I was brainwashed into thinking that you had to have thousands, and thousands of dollars in the bank to buy and obtain an home loan.

I just want to encourage you to use what you got. It might seem small to you, but it just might be what’s required to get you into the door. You might remember the mustard seed of faith. I used to wear one around my neck in a charm, and that thing is small. It would most definitely spark and grow the more you use it, so get up and Use what you Got!!!

Be Blessed & I love you all!

Be a Good Steward Over Your Time

Hey Everyone and Happy New Year. Welcome to 2019 I pray and hope that you are staying true to your goals and aspirations and I pray that you are taking charge of your life and making things happen.

For this season of my life, I have been in silence and observing everything that I do. One of the things that I have been working on is my time. God grants us life that comes with time and this time that we have is precious. We don’t know the date or the hour of expiration for life, so with that being said lets not waste it.

Social media plays a huge part of our lives now. We use it to keep in touch with our peers and some of us use it for staying up to date on things in the world and people. I must admit, I love social media but I understand that if I don’t have a clear objective of what I need to use it for, it will began to distract me and I would waste time. You know you wake up, turn off the alarm, and then you get to scrolling and checking your notifications and messages. Before you know it an hour has passed and that hour did not put any money into your wallet or help build your business. It pretty much was just a waste. That could have been a hour of you reading something productive to start investing or you could have been building your craft. Mannnnn there’s been so many times I’ve spent times just scrolling and scrolling and got nothing and I mean nothing accomplished.

When we look at the definition of Steward it says it is to manage or look after. We must simply do that. We must manage our precious time. Ask yourself what you’re doing is this going to help me out in the long run? Is this going to add to me or is it going to be a pointless act. Now I’m not saying not to live and enjoy life. I believe that we all should dial back at sometime and do something enjoyable but I’m speaking to the people that are striving to reach their destiny and every time you try to get something done or try to accomplish something, it just doesn’t happen. That’s who I am talking to.

To start taking charge of your time. Remember this… you are in control. You control what you want to do, who you want to associate yourself with, and where you want to go. You are in control. Don’t get sucked in to believing that you don’t have a choice or someone or somebody is making you do something you don’t want to. There’s two simple words that has given me power and they are YES and NO and nothing in between.

I want to challenge you this year to dial back and observe to make sure that you aren’t wasting your time on pointless things. Make sure that you are maximizing your time and every opportunity. I will touch bases on this and maybe make it a series as we go further into this year of greatness. I believe that this year can be a breath taking year for you but it’s according to what you put it in.

Be Blessed and Thank you for Reading

Here Comes the Purge

Hello Family! I hope everyone is making their way to family for the Thanksgiving Holiday and I hope that everyone is safe and blessed.

                                         Garbage Can

I was working around the house the other day doing laundry and I noticed some clothes and shoes that I don’t wear anymore but still yet they were in my closet. I asked myself “why are you holding on to this”? mind you the clothes were now too small and I don’t plan on losing weight in my chest or arms (those are the good parts) but why was I still holding to them? So I started to think and to dissect this situation. Did they have any sentimental value? Nope. Were they a collectors item? Nope. So I kept going back to why do I still have it? Suddenly,  I gathered a bag and started putting all of the things together that were old and that I wasn’t going to be wearing anymore.

Shortly, I got the revelation behind this for life’s journey ahead. There are many things that we have around us that just become garbage and waste. I know for me it becomes a distraction. In this season, I have been working on “focus” and trying to stay focused on my goals and what really matters. If we don’t take the time purge the things that we don’t have need anymore, they may just end up holding us back. Some of the things might not be materials. They could be connections, relationships, friendships, the way we think, or even the way we learn. Now I’m not saying go and start befriending people because I believe that everyone needs someone and somebody but if the connection or friendship is causing you to not move forward or is toxic then purge it. As I’ve stated before in another blog, God created life to move and with moving it moves forward. God’s word stays the same and yes he is the same God but he is a God of Progression. He wants us to grow. He wants us to be better.

Purging comes and will start to happen when we begin to release. As much as we want to be superman and batman and act like we are made of steel, we all have hearts and souls. In order for us to grow and move forward, we must let some things go. Just like a growing baby can’t fit the same onesie that he wore at 2 months and now at 24 months. Some stuff has to go, and not only that… You will not have need for it anymore! So I say to you dear friends purge and get rid of the dead weight that’s holding you and keeping you from moving forward. This will only help you gain focus on what really matters.
