I Don’t Have a Lot🙂 Here’s Some Quick Encouragement

Hello Family, I am BACK. I pray this finds you well and blessed. It’s been a while since I’ve written anything but I want to get back to a place of writing and speak what’s on my heart, and the only thing I have right now is a piece of encouragement.

Despite what’s going on in the world, I want to spread some joy and to remind us all to sit back and to open our hearts for gratitude. Everyday we wake up and breathe and exhale is a blessing. We are indeed a blessed people. I simply want to share these few words, Be Strong, you are more than enough and capable to get through this. Whether it’s financially, health related or struggling to find where you fit in, please be reminded that you are enough. God has equipped you with everything you need. Take time to sit back and tap into your God given gifts and talents. You may convey the gift of servitude and the gift of helps. Especially in this time we all need a helping hand whether it’s physically or just an ear.

I am praying for you and with you, I love you!

Will you Connect the Dots?

I’ve been puzzled on this thought for some time and now I’m just going to lay it out on paper and let you hear my insight.

I’ve always been the kind of person that stuck to a certain method or wasn’t really open to trying something new. Kind of like the 5 year old who says no to eating broccoli or any green vegetable. They don’t know the importance of it, but all they know is that it doesn’t taste sweet like a snack. So they rule out everything associated in that category and call it nasty. Even as adults we are the same way. Where does this come from? I’m glad you ask me. Most of it is a sense of “fear”. If you’ve never went golfing but say that you don’t like to do it, How would you ever know that you don’t like it? If you’ve never been to a concert but you say you don’t like crowds and think they’re overrated, how would you really know that you don’t like Concerts?

We must begin to connect the dots in our Life. Connecting the dot means living through and going through it. We have to remember to enjoy life to the fullest. Don’t be afraid to try it even if you have negative thoughts about it, you might even learn to like it, once you’re in the moment of it.

If we don’t connect the Dots, we will become dull, boring, and dried up LOL

No honestly, there’s so much more to life than what we think. If we could see pass our down falls and the things that we are going through and actually find some type of Joy around it, then we could discover and continue to learn about ourselves and the world around us.

A couple of weeks ago, I decided to go for a bike ride. I usually go with a friend but they were unavailable. So going on this bike ride for me was a test. I wanted to take the trail by my house, so I did just that. While on the trail, I looked to my left, and seen this body of water out of no where. So I slowed down and turned around. I found an opening and walked my bike through. There it was, I was only 5 mins. away from my house and discovered this piece of land and water. It was a park, but just not any park. It was breath taking and quiet! I’ve never looked at nature (God’s creation) in a peaceful way like this. There was even a bench in front of the lake. So i set down and listened to what was around me. It was so refreshing. if I had I never got up the courage up to ride my bike alone, this moment would have never happened. So will you connect the dots given to you?

Embrace Opportunities

I can’t believe that we are in the 5 month of 2016 already. It seems like Christmas was yesterday. Even the seasons are moving fast. Over the past few months I’ve been faced with many opportunities. Some of the opportunities were well viewed. I mean you were able to see the pros and cons of the opportunities and then some of them you had to dig  a little deeper or as I said in some blogs ago “Take a chance”. No matter the walk of life we chose, we will always be faced with opportunity which lead us to making the decision of saying “yay” or Nay”. As always when I want to gain more clarity on topics, I take a look at their meaning.

Webster’s Dictionary defines Opportunity as a favorable juncture of circumstances, “the halt provided an opportunity for rest and refreshment” or a good chance for advancement or progress. So many times I’ve encountered opportunities and didn’t understand the outcome so I made my decision based on my knowledge and experience of the present moment. What I’ve come to realize when accepting and opportunities, it is simply what you make of it. Of course some of us probably can relate to having a opportunity come up and it sounded good at surface, and was promising.  I remember working with a company about 5 years ago, they presented me with an opportunity to advance and it did come with more responsibility. So I buckled down and went above and beyond the call of duty to show that I was more than capable of handling more responsibilities. Months and months past and I seriously got tired of the false hope that was given from my boss, so I resigned. So for a while I had become weary of hearing the excitement of opportunities and just saying no thanks because of the world we live in today we say “I want it Now”.

Nowadays, I’ve been able to let myself go and make the decision of taking every opportunity that comes to me. I’ve learned that every thing you do or want to acquire is going to require some work and effort. You may get it handed to you but in order to keep it and maintain it, you’re going to have to put some elbow into it. You never know what creativity or gift you will tap into just by stepping out and learning something new. Don’t let the opportunity make you, You make the opportunity!
